[COREMENT] The "Wet Stretch" Hack: How to fit into jeans that are too tight

Did your favorite pair of jeans shrink in the wash?

Denim is a durable cotton twill, but it can lose up to 0.5 to 1 inch in the waist and hips if dried at high heat. Instead of struggling to zip them up, you can use your own body heat and moisture to "reset" the fibers to a comfortable fit.

At FITMENT, we recommend the "Damp Squat" method. By slightly dampening the tightest areas, you allow the cotton fibers to expand under tension.

The "Denim Expansion" Guide:

  1. The Mist: Use a spray bottle to lightly dampen the waistband and hip area with lukewarm water (about 80°F).

  2. The Manual Pull: While the denim is damp, grab the waistband and pull firmly in opposite directions for 30 seconds.

  3. The Active Stretch: Put the jeans on and perform 10 to 15 deep squats. This forces the damp fibers to mold to your specific body shape, adding back that missing 0.5 inch of comfort.

Denim State Fit Comfort Flexibility
Heat Dried Tight / Stiff Low
Dampened Expanding Medium
After Squats Custom Fit High

Use Case: For fashion-conscious individuals who want to save a pair of high-quality denim. This 5-minute active stretch is much better than buying a new pair and ensures your 32-inch waist jeans actually feel like 32 inches.
